More than $33 million of recreational cannabis and $32.2 million of medical marijuana was purchased in Colorado this past August, and there’s no sign of slowing. According to the Colorado Department of Revenue, there was a 10% bump in sales.
With that, since January 1st, 2014, Colorado alone has raked in more than $45.2 million in taxes, licenses and fees from recreational and medical CANNABIS combined. Elliot says one of the biggest cities in the state will be opening its first recreational shop, pushing recreational ahead of medical marijuana sales even further.
